LANGUAGE SPEAKS LIFE
English Language, manages our lives and academic studies, helping content-based subjects learning and dealing with real-life matters. At SUIS Qingpu, English is set up as a string which connects the classroom learning with real happens. For example, when talk about “Epidemic Etiquette”, students are supposed to display or articulate their findings by reading, researching, pair discussing, reflecting and concluding. Both linguistic input and output has been intensively developed, resulting in a habit of “learn to think and learn to do”.
DYNAMICS PICTURE OUT A DAILY CLASSES
Classroom, is the place where stores powers and dynamics. At SUIS Qingpu, classes are vigorous in activities, observing and questioning, and we believe that our students are not just knowledge receivers, but the masters of generating questions, hypothesis, and experiments, even challenging the results. Professional laboratory has been set up for our high school students to further incorporate the experiments into our Chemistry curriculum, motivating pupils to explore the unknown subject areas.
INQUIRY OPENS UP THE LEARNING
Inquiry, is an art that combining numerous skills and techniques. At SUIS Qingpu, Inquiry is much beyond of its concept, connecting the social sciences (Global Perspectives and combing linguistics) and scientific technologies (general sciences, Design and Technologies). The emphasis Global Perspectives is on developing students’ ability to think critically about a range of global issues where there are views from perspectives of individuals, communities and globally. While Design and Technology, enables learners to identify, consider and solve problems through creative thinking, planning and design, and by working with different media, materials and tools to produce a made product.
LIFE TELLS MORE THAN ACADEMICS
Spirit always stays along with the life. Three-year in high school is a golden period of one’s life, which should not be engulfed by academics only, but to learn how to joy the life by tasting music, sports, art, design, languages and outdoor adventures such as the Duke of Edinburgh Award. After many years later, the memories for high school lives are filling with tears and sweats, melodies and smiles.
PASTORAL CARE DO MATTERS
Tutorial System
Tutorial system over shines the traditional homeroom system in a normal high school as it is to care each individual’s needs. A good tutor is a life mentor in many aspects. The pastoral care offered by tutors are far beyond classes, reaching at every single moment.
Boarding System
The Sorting Hat divided young sorcerers into different Houses in the magic world of Harry Potter. At SUIS Qingpu, we group our students by interests and personalities. Even though without Quidditch or Dementors in the muggle world, our extraordinary pupils can still magic out from House events and activities, by which the connections and interpersonal relationship can be formatted.
“April showers bring May flowers!” School of future is going to be an experiential community where “teaching” correlates to “educating”. It offers unique opportunities to apply numerous academic concepts and skills through practical applications in global perspectives. Life at SUIS Qingpu High School will be a very fantastic moment whilst in the long journey of learning and their lives.
