SYNOPSIS
The 4th grade student Queenie Hu starring as QP, is a girl who does not allow herself to be carried away by the distractions of the world, nor does she settle for passively accepting the problems of her time, but proactively reflects, seeks and finds solutions that satisfy her capacity for both individual and social action. It is a voice and an example of change. It is a call towards the awakening of consciousness for the active care of our environment beginning with all the actions of each one of us, kid or adult.
The joy of being a child is revealed in multiple ways. Our mission as teachers leads us to nurture this joy and to direct it towards creative processes that allow them to discover, understand and embrace the world, making it their own with responsibility, enthusiasm and wisdom. We cannot avoid the difficulties in their lives, but we can and must help them face them with optimism, with a proactive position that finds solutions instead of focusing on problems, developing a thoughtful awareness and attention to all the changes that are happening around them, in order to act according to the existing needs.
SUIS Qingpu strives day by day to feed such joy. That is why for the first official celebration of Children’s Day at SUIS Qingpu and facing the great epidemiological challenge that defies not only China but the entire world at this specific moment, it decided to be a voice that bears hope through color, music and acting. “A world from black and white to color” is the name of the film with which primary school students reveal the key to face and overcome the difficulties encountered. It is a production in which students demonstrate the importance of personally assuming a responsible and active attitude towards change. In which students demonstrate the need to continue singing, painting and dancing to continue to keep spirits illuminated even in the most difficult moments. A production that invites the reunion with the most human part of ourselves, with our families, with the deepest values. A production that invites us to have a livelier connection with nature and a real care for the environment.
QP is you, it’s me. For this reason, all the teachers and the SUIS QP team spread a colorful message to all the children:
Just as blue paints the deep seas and skies, green shows the freshness of the meadows, red and orange light the flames of life, yellow illuminates the beauty of the days, and we love the pink and purple with their beauty in the flowers, so are you, children in the world! Enjoy, explore and embrace our amazing earth, one day its future will be in your hands!
