Bill Huang then shared with the audience his experiences in learning. He said that the scholarship he has received was ‘a dream come true’ for him. On the ‘journey of learning’, it was not an easy thing. He hoped that his classmates would keep working hard because, one day, their hard work would certainly pay off for them. In addition, he said that the award he received was not only his own, but that it also belonged to his parents, friends, and teachers, all of whom he is grateful for.
On the same day as the ceremony, the high school’s new journalists were also appointed. Congratulations go out to Fiona Wu, Nikki Lin, Adeline Xing, Jerry Xu, and Harry Qian from Grade 9. We wish them good luck in their new roles and look forward to learning about new perspectives and viewpoints from them.
Finally, Lucky Zhang concluded the ceremony with a beautiful musical piece, Franz Liszt’s Liebesträume Op. 62 No. 3. Lucky’s performance was a lovely way to honour the award recipients and to bring the academic awards ceremony to a successful close.
