On June 13, 2023, thirty-five graduates from SUIS Qingpu’s High School walked onto the stage and received their diplomas. They are set to start new journeys and adventures around the world!
The graduates from the Class of 2023, SUIS Qingpu’s first high school graduating cohort, have received a total of 153 letters of admission from the UK, USA, Australia, Hong Kong SAR, Canada, Japan and Switzerland. Ten offers were from Top 10 QS ranking schools, including the University of Cambridge, Imperial College London, and University College London.

Ms. Xuemei Huang, as the ceremony’s parent representative, delivered a heart-warming speech. As a parent, she is delighted with the students’ achievements in studies, sports, arts, pleased with their cultural awareness, and very happy that they each possess a global perspective. She hopes that the graduates will apply their exceptional qualities and knowledge to real-life situations and actively contribute to the development and progress of society.
A cappella – Teachers’ Performance
Bill Huang Zhiyuan, as the Valedictorian, reviewed precious memories with his friends and classmates. They will keep moving forward into the next phase of their lives and hold on tight to their dreams, never letting go.
Ms. Sunny Huang and Dr. Adam Neufield, SUIS Qingpu’s Co-Principals, told the graduates that they will have no choice but to change as they will be experiencing many changes and new contexts in the coming future. As SUIS Qingpu alumni, they will choose to enter and embrace newer and newer states, becoming something wonderful, unique citizens with Chinese roots and Global Wings, contributing to society and the world all in their own, unique, special ways.
Ms. Maxine Lu, SUIS Qingpu’s Founding Principal and the only representative for East Asia on the Cambridge International Council, expressed her sincere congratulations to the graduates. As the first graduating cohort of SUIS Qingpu’s High School, they have ‘blazed the trail’, leaving ‘footprints’ that will guide and inspire generations to come. The knowledge and skills they have acquired in school are not just for personal gain but are meant to be shared for the betterment of society. The young generation should embrace their roles as responsible global citizens, using education to contribute meaningfully to the world and to advocate for positive change.
Mr. Quanquan Zhang, Deputy-Secretary of the Qingpu District Committee of the Communist Party of China, encouraged our graduates to stick to their beliefs, fight bravely, give back to the motherland and serve society.
