With each passing year, we commemorate milestones and embrace the happiness of growth. In the blink of an eye, these young newcomers have flourished and blossomed. Filled with confidence and radiance, they embark on a warm and radiant journey during the delightful moments of early summer. It is at this moment that they open the heartfelt prologue of their 10th birthday celebration, entitled, “Embracing the Light of the Future.”
Sincere Youth Shines Brightly
The Chinese “Book of Rites” states that “the first ten years of life are considered childhood, a time for learning”. At the age of ten, a significant milestone is reached in one’s life, marking the farewell to an innocent and tender childhood and the beginning of a vibrant and remarkable youth. Stepping into the radiant sunshine and accompanied by joyful melodies, Grade 3 students at SUIS Qingpu confidently walked the ‘red carpet’, showcasing the brilliance of their first ten years.
Confident Youth Sparkles with Radiance
Co-Principals Sunny Huang and Dr. Adam Neufield, along with Assistant Principal Helen Liu, Executive Deputy-Head of Primary Michelle Song, Assistant Director Ms Summer and Ms Sara were all in attendance to commemorate this important birthday celebration.
In their heartfelt speeches, Co-Principals Sunny Huang and Dr. Adam Neufield extended their sincere wishes to the students. They encouraged them to embrace their tenth birthday, a significant milestone in life, by nurturing ambitious aspirations and pursuing lofty goals. Their ultimate wish was for each child to grow into a compassionate, talented, and responsible individual.
The students took ‘a trip down memory lane’ to revisit the milestones of their growth and relive the joys of the past. The collection of photographs captured countless unforgettable moments, preserving precious memories.
Our grade three teachers perform the song “A Flower for the Children,” their voices filled with warmth and sincere blessings.
Interwoven within the meticulously prepared program for the tenth birthday celebration, we witness their vibrant energy on the stage, showcasing the confidence and radiance of ten-year-old children.
Childhood memories are like quicksand, gradually leaving as we grow up and prepare to take flight towards our dreams. Prior to the ceremony, under the guidance of their Chinese language teachers, the children wrote a letter to their future selves. During the ceremony, these little youngsters, carrying their aspirations, delivered this letter to themselves.
Assistant Principle Helen Liu extended warm blessings to the children, joined by Principal Sunny Huang, Executive Deputy Director of the Elementary Department Michelle Song, Assistant Director Summer Gao , Sara Yu , and Grade Coordinator Vicky Wang in a harmonious rendition of the song “Childhood”.
As the candles of happiness were lit, students and teachers sang the birthday song together, accompanied by the flickering flames. The children all made their birthday wishes in silence, while school leaders and guests watched student representatives cut the cake. Together, they raised the sail of harmony and growth for SUIS Qingpu students.
Lively Youth Displays Exuberance and
Confidence
At the sports pitch, Grade 3 teachers provided an energetic music festival for our ten-year old youngsters. As the sun shone and a gentle breeze flowed across the field, students moved to the rhythm of the music.
The ‘boat’ of dreams sets sail at the age of ten, and the wings of aspirations spread wide, allowing the students to soar. We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the parents of the third-grade class and the dedicated volunteer parents. Under your meticulous planning, the 10th birthday became a fulfilling and meaningful time for all. We believe that they will dedicate themselves, shining brightly and pursuing the blossoming of their dreams, advancing courageously and resolutely.
