Jon Emerson
Originally from Lancashire, England, Jon Emerson is a dedicated and experienced educator with a strong background in Humanities and leadership roles in international schools. Currently serving as the Head of High School at Shanghai United International School Qingpu Campus, Jon oversees teaching and learning, academic strategies, curriculum development, and teacher development.
With over fourteen years of teaching and leadership experience, including seven years with Xiehe Education, Jon has held key roles such as Deputy Head, Academic Head of Key Stage 4, and Director of Studies. He is deeply committed to fostering high academic standards and creating a supportive school culture that inspires every student to achieve their fullest potential.
Jon holds a BA in Philosophy and Theology (Honours) from the University of Leeds and a PGCE in Secondary and Sixth Form Education from Bangor University. His expertise is further enhanced by professional training in IB Theory of Knowledge, senior leadership, and innovative teaching strategies.
