Preparing students for future success
SUIS Qingpu students prepare for the future. From career planning workshops to global university visits, our dedicated Career and University Guidance (CUG) counsellors take a personal approach to helping students take their next step. The CUG Office begins to work with students and families in Grade 9 to explore and define career paths, subjects, skills and qualities needed to make informed choices about universities. From fulfilling necessary requirements to completing applications processes step-by-step, our counsellors are here to help students reach their goals.
To prepare our students for their journey beyond SUIS Qingpu, our University Guidance Office (UGO) offers one-to-one college planning support for students and their families. Through this process, students reflect on their personal strengths and aptitudes and explore the university options which will best suit their needs and interests.
University and career guidance is also interwoven into the curriculum for students in Years 10-13, where our CUG Counsellors teach courses which help guide students to develop their academic passions, set goals, and prepare their university admission portfolios.
Visits to SUIS Qingpu by representatives from a wide range of universities and colleges from the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Australia, Continental Europe, and elsewhere are arranged throughout the academic year, giving students and their parents an opportunity to meet and speak with overseas university representatives about admission to their respective universities, as well as to learn more about university life and their academic programmes.
University fairs, information sessions, and career days are also organised on campus to better prepare our students as they plan their future. Our overseas university acceptances have been extremely impressive, as our diligent, globally-minded students continue to achieve outstanding academic results and co-curricular successes.
Our students have a proven track record of excellent educational results in IGCSE and A Level courses, and they go on to study at top universities worldwide. As of June 13, 2024, the graduating class of 2024 from our High School has received a total of 133 offers from universities across the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia, Hong Kong SAR, Canada, and Singapore. They do not blindly chase rankings but instead dare to apply to universities that are the best fit for them. We also encourage students to apply for majors they are genuinely passionate about, spanning fields such as STEM, humanities, social sciences, business, arts, and design. This fully embodies the school’s holistic education philosophy.
Nearly 40% of this year’s graduates have received conditional offers from the UK’s G5 super-elite universities, 50% have received (conditional) offers from QS World Top 30 universities, and 75% have received (conditional) offers from QS World Top 100 universities. These achievements are the best testament to their hard work and well-rounded qualities.
