Adam Neufield, EdD
Dr. Adam Neufield holds a B.Sc. (Chemistry) and B.Ed. from the University of Toronto, and an M.Ed. (International Education) and Ed.D. from the University of Bath (UK). He began his career teaching science and mathematics in Ontario before moving to Shanghai in 2000 to work in international and bilingual schools. After several years as a Chemistry teacher, he took on roles in admissions and marketing as well as career and university guidance, and later moved into school leadership. Adam has served as principal and head of school in institutions across Shanghai and Jakarta and has been with Xiehe Education for eleven years, including a principalship at SUIS Wanyuan.
Currently, Adam is leading SUIS Qingpu through accreditation with the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and serves as Delivery Partner Lead for University College London’s (UCL) National Professional Qualifications (NPQ). His school priorities include developing the curriculum for a new Science Lab, delivering teacher professional learning, and coordinating international partnerships for student and staff exchanges and university-admissions support.
A lifelong amateur astronomer, Adam teaches astronomy across primary, middle and high school through SUIS Qingpu’s cross-curricular after-school programme and is active in astronomy education research. He also serves on the advisory board of the Network for Enriching Students and Schools In China (NESSIC), a bilingual-school network of 32 schools nationwide.
