With the green shade, here comes the long summer day 🙂
On June 29 and 30, all the students of the primary school department held student-led conferences in an atmosphere of self-affirmation, self-summary and self-reflection. The conference is jointly attended by students and parents, and the students are responsible for hosting the conference.
In this activity, we gave the leadership of the meeting back to the children. The children were responsible for leading the whole conference, showing parents the knowledge they had learned in the core courses of Chinese, mathematics, English, ELA and other professional courses. By reporting the learning process and results to parents, students can show their understanding in different learning situations, so as to better reflect on their own learning and improvements. At the same time, students can also train their communication and organization skills, so that parents can have a clearer and deeper understanding of their child’s learning situation. Parents can also witness their child’s growth, and celebrate progress with their children.
Children’s Words
I speak English very well. I just take this opportunity to show my talent to my parents.
I think this kind of equal dialogue is really good. It’s not like waiting for the teacher’s results after every parents’ meeting. Now I have the opportunity to show my favorite works this semester.
I like this form very much. It’s hard to explain why my grade is not good to my parents. But in this conference, I have the opportunity to tell them about my performance in various aspects in this semester’s study. Some aspects are good and some are bad, and some worthy of my reflection and correction.
Parents’ Words
Children reflect and summarize in a free, equal and frank atmosphere, and I’m constantly reflecting.
Sit and wait (like attending sessions). It turns out that it’s not. It’s a student-led conference to make a summary at the end of the term and talk freely about expectations for the future.
My child behaved gracefully and spoke logically in the whole conference, which made me sigh with admiration. My child could clearly remember the learning content of this semester, including summary and details. And in the process of expression to add their own experience and reflection, too valuable!
Wish you a safe and happy summer!
