A new school year brings a new beginning. With excitement and anticipation, students returned to campus ready for the journey ahead. Through a vibrant New Student Orientation and a meaningful Opening Ceremony, the High School welcomed students into a new chapter of learning, connection, and growth.

The afternoon began with dorm check-in, followed by a New Student Assembly introducing students to their new learning environment and school life. Grade-level and tutor-group icebreakers then provided opportunities to meet new classmates, build connections, and develop a sense of belonging. For boarding students, the experience continued into the evening with a range of boarding activities.

One of the highlights of Orientation was the Department Fun Activities. Chinese, Mathematics, Languages, Biology & Chemistry, PE, Computer Science & Physics, Art, Economics & Business, and Japanese departments transformed their subjects into interactive 30-minute experiences.

Students communicated, calculated, experimented, created, moved, collaborated, and problem-solved their way through different disciplines. Rather than simply learning what subjects they would study, students had their first opportunity to experience the diversity, challenge, and possibilities of high school learning.
Following Orientation, the Opening Ceremony officially marked the beginning of the new academic year. Centred on the theme “Rooted in Cultural Heritage, Empowered by Contemporary Wisdom, Venturing Toward a Global Horizon,” the ceremony encouraged students to remain connected to their cultural roots while developing the wisdom, adaptability, and global perspective needed for the future.

The beginning of the school year is both a welcome and a departure. May every student remain rooted in cultural heritage, empowered by the wisdom of our time, and ready to venture toward a wider world.
A new chapter has begun. Our journey starts here.
