In the ‘Year of the Tiger’ painting activity, the first-year students learned a series of simple traditional Chinese patterns. They also welcomed the Year of the Tiger through drawing tigers, writing fu characters, learning about spring festivals and other art forms.

Through independent investigations, Grade 5 students came up with the five most popular art forms used to celebrate the Year of the Tiger: Chinese painting, coloured pencil drawings, sculptures, New Year paintings, and shadow puppet plays, etc. Let’s enjoy the “Five Tiger Generals” group, created by the Grade 5 students, as they conduct a shadow puppet show about the origin of the Year of the Tiger.
