LRC Reading Month Events Preview
At present, although our daily lives have been affected a lot by the pandemic, books have at least been a great consolation to us, and this fact leads to the theme for our upcoming Learning Resource Center’s (LRC) Reading Month. The LRC has prepared a series of fun events for the month, and we are sincerely looking forward to participation from all our teachers and students. The online events that have been planned for our upcoming Reading Month are as follows:
Event①
Book Recommendation
Have you ever read a book that you just can’t put down? If yes, we would like your help to use your mobile phone to record a 1-minute video about that book. Please briefly introduce basic information about the book, such as the title, author, illustrator (if any), translator (if any), publisher and general idea of the book, and share your recommendation reasons in detail. The language to be used in the video can be either Chinese or English – both are acceptable.
Deadline: 16:00,May 6, 2022
Event②
Book Cover Design
A book cover condenses the general idea of a book and can serve to attract potential readers to read the book. The same book may have multiple covers due to the publication of different editions or because it has been produced by different publishers. To some extent, these covers also reflect the aesthetics and design concepts of different eras. We invite you to design a new cover for your favourite book. The cover should include the title, author, illustrator (if any), translator (if any), publisher, and reflect the general idea of the book. There is no limit to the size of the paper or the tools and techniques used. Please save the original design draft and send the scanned copy or original photo when submitting the book cover.
Deadline: 16:00, May 13, 2022
It is free to participate in the two events above – please consider participating either or both according to your interest! Please be sure to send your submissions to our librarians before the deadlines stated. The e-mail addresses for our librarians are as follows:
Primary School Division, please send to stellah@suisqp.com
Middle and High School Divisions, please send to pennyt@suisqp.com
When submitting, please name the file in the format of “Event name+Chinese and English name+Class”(e.g. Event①+张秋Rachel+5A)Thank you!
P.S. In addition to these online events, the LRC has also prepared two offline events. Please stay tuned!
