The brilliant red flag is flying high, guiding us as we advance forward.
We set sail with idealism while wearing our bright red scarves.
On June 1, 2022, with the resounding and passionate sounds of our national anthem resonating in the sky, the initiation ceremony for our new Young Pioneers kicked off. A total of 253 students became glorious Young Pioneers and entered a new stage in life.
Online Sharing
Before the initiation ceremony, all the Grade 2 Reserve Young Pioneers learned many things about the League of Young Pioneers with the help of our senior students through the online platform. They wrote initiation declarations, which expressed their strong willingness to join the Young Pioneers, they listened to students’ stories of growth, and they wrote a powerful application letter to join the league in order to show their determination. Overall, they improved their sense of identity and their sense of belonging to the Young Pioneers organization.
Flag Raising Ceremony
Proudly singing the national anthem while paying respect to the national flag flying high above, teachers and Grade 2 students engaged in a solemn flag-raising ceremony, formally commencing the initiation ceremony.
Teachers and students share the same dream as teenagers.
Leaders and teachers congratulated and encouraged the Young Pioneers with ideals and responsibilities, and the second graders expressed their unswerving love for the motherland with a poem.
Inheriting the Revolutionary Spirit
A collection of photos from the 1960s of grandparents wearing red scarves showed us their perseverance, and photos of parents in the 1990s wearing red scarves revealed their vigorous spirit. This is the power of “Inheriting the Revolutionary Spirit”.
Under the colourful team flag, our counselor Ms. Gao announced the names of all the new team members. Parents helped their children put on the bright red scarves, and gave gifts and best wishes, taking great care to record this special moment of growth.
Zheng Qianci, a captain of the Young Pioneer League from Class 4A, led the new members to read the solemn oath for joining the Young Pioneer League. After everyone sang the team song, all the students proudly stated, “Always be ready. Strive for Communism!” Although they are still young, the students expressed with enthusiastic voices through their computer screens their determination and belief in joining the Young Pioneers Organization.
Speeches from the Representatives
Xiang Lexin’s mother, the parents’ representative, gave a sincere speech expressing their high expectations of the children. She hoped that the children will devote every day to becoming the best that they can be as beloved Chinese Young Pioneers.
Shen Yicheng from Class 2E, as a new member of the Young Pioneers, then shared his feelings. He said that he and his classmates would inherit the glorious tradition of their revolutionary ancestors, strictly adhering to the standards of the Young Pioneers, learning etiquette and morality, setting good examples at school and home, and striving to become excellent Young Pioneers.
Singing for the New Chapter
The new members of the Young Pioneer League from Grade 2 also gave a wonderful, virtual performance, singing a song to express their dedication to and praise for the new era.
Finally, with the sound of the drum and trumpet playing the flag retreating song, the initiation ceremony came to an end! The students then wrote their wishes and goals on the ‘vision wall’ – this wall, now full of children’s visions, became the spotlight of the day.
On this most special occasion, the Young Pioneer Organization gained many new members. This glorious activity served to inspire the students’ sense of pride, glory and mission. We believe that they will take practical actions in the future to add brilliance to their red scarves!
