As we enjoy the spring flowers and autumn fruit, we are also blessed with experiencing two festivals at the same time! Coinciding with the Mid-Autumn Festival, we celebrated SUIS Qingpu’s fourth Teachers’ Day and the 14th session of the “Xieli Outstanding Teachers Awards”.
The children smile as they face the bright sky; the gentle breeze blows, and the teachers’ spirits brim over with joy. “Thank you, teachers! Happy Teachers’ Day!” A simple sentence conveys not only the deep friendship between teachers and students, but also the inheritance of a strong school spirit at SUIS Qingpu. Teachers’ Day is not just a special day for teachers – it is also a day that encourages students to learn how to respect teachers and to develop their love of learning.
On such a sunny day with a clear, blue sky, our teachers arrived at school to children’s laughter and beautiful music. On such a special day, roles were temporarily reversed, as the teachers became the center of devotion and care. The theme of the day was most certainly one of blessings.
Peaches and plums do not need to talk, yet the world beats a path to them. The best gift for teachers is seeing their students growing and learning, day by day. We sincerely thank all teachers for putting their whole hearts into the children. The autumn breezes and warm rain moistens the hearts of SUIS Qingpu students – let us watch them grow up happily!
At one o’clock in the afternoon, the “Xieli Outstanding Teachers Awards” kicked off in SUIS Qingpu’s Theatre. After 14 years of hard work for these celebrations, the original intention of the awards remains. The “Xieli Outstanding Teachers Award” aims at recognizing teachers with “a light in their eyes and love in their hearts”.
The event commenced with a welcome speech given by the Co-Principal of SUIS Qingpu, Dr. Adam Neufield.
The 10 shortlisted teachers wonderfully represented all the faculty and staff at SUIS Qingpu. While all 10 colleagues were already ‘winners’ in our eyes, two finalists for this year’s Outstanding Teachers Awards were selected through an on-site voting process.
During the intense time of vote counting by the parents and volunteers, the primary school’s Nightingale Choir brought us a beautiful rendition of “Wind, you don’t blow”.
SUIS Qingpu’s Vice-Principal Mr. Ge Shunyong then delivered a speech. With the audience’s anticipation at its peak, the president of “XieLiHui”Charity , Wang Haibin, then announced the two winners and presented the awards to the winning teachers.
This is the 3rd year that SUIS Qingpu has held the “Xieli Outstanding Teacher’s Awards”. After gaining experience from the awards ceremony last year, home and school worked together superbly, and after a lot of preparatory work in the early stages, a successful Outstanding Teacher’s Award ceremony was completed.
We would like to thank all the teachers, students, and parent-volunteers who worked so hard on-stage and behind the scenes. It was your enthusiasm and love that made the whole ceremony a wonderful experience for all! Let’s look forward to meeting again next year!
