With the opening of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), all teachers and students at SUIS Qingpu assembled on October 17 to participate in the school’s second Flag-raising Ceremony of this semester. Welcoming the 20th CPC National Congress means that we have ushered in a new era and a new journey.
The national flag, under the escort of our flag guards, entered the stadium in a solemn and orderly manner. With the national anthem playing, the flag rose magnificently and slowly. We were born under the national flag and grew up in the spring breeze. All our eyes have been on China, and all the shining stars have been our beliefs. We were born under the national flag and grew up in the spring breeze. Our eyes are all for China, the five stars shine for our beliefs.
Our appreciation goes out to our support staff team. They always prepare delicious meals for us, escort us on our way to school, make the campus clean and tidy, and maintain for us a safe and orderly campus. Our Young Pioneers, with grateful hearts, place bright red scarves on the representatives of our support staff team.

Mr. Qiu, the representative for the school’s canteen staff, delivered a speech: “We cherish the opportunity to serve the school and the students. We also want to thank all the students. You are the inheritance of the wisdom of the country, the continuation of society’s hope, and the angels loved by parents. It is you who inspire the love in our hearts. Making sure you have good meals and snacks every day is the greatest purpose of our work in this school. In the future, we will apply this gratitude to our work posts, just as we continue to do our work with the mindset of continuous learning.”

Xue Qian Er and Huang Xi Er’s mother, a parent who had volunteered to provide the school with pandemic prevention materials after learning that the school needed to do PCR teats every day and required a lot of materials, received a certificate of appreciation, representing all parents who have helped the school during the pandemic. Xue Qian Er and Huang Xi Er’s mother then delivered a speech: “It is my great honour to attend this donation and awards ceremony at SUIS Qingpu as a representative of the parents. In this regard, and on behalf of the parents, I would like to express my sincere thanks to the school leaders and teachers who always care for our children. I am very grateful to the school for holding this glorious ceremony for us. Every time I attend school activities, I can feel the youth and optimism of the students. As parents, we grow up with our children and the school. Facing the global pandemic situation, we become a big family sharing both joys and challenges. Under the requirements of pandemic prevention and protection, the school needed to increase its investment for purchasing pandemic prevention materials in order to ensure the safety of students, teachers and staff. Then, I thought, “What can we do for our school and our children?” I wanted to do my best to provide the school with pandemic prevention materials in order to reduce the pressure on the school. When my husband and I delivered the supplies to the school, I suddenly felt that we were like Baymax, arriving to protect the city and the school we love, and protecting all the students and teachers. Home-school cooperation throughout this special period was and is important for us all. We feel happy and satisfied that we could make such a big contribution to SUIS Qingpu and our next generation.”
