Mastering Pinyin through fun reading and writing
Breaking through the number walls and rescuing the Minions
Through mysterious clues and text messages and with the help of some Minions, students arrived at a magical castle to rescue the caged Minions. In order to succeed, they needed to solve all the puzzles and obtain three keys. Look! The mysterious number wall appeared in front of them. Faced with such a desperate situation, could they rescue the Minions’ partners? We hoped that the children could apply their knowledge and skills to break through the challenges and successfully obtain the three keys!
In math class, students learned how to solve problems on the number walls. Through the accumulation of previous knowledge regarding the composition of numbers, division, and combinations of numbers, they were expected to perceive the connections between numbers and mathematics. Through the creation of such an exciting atmosphere, they were presented with new and different circumstances. Through a series of processes like observation, thinking, discussion, experimentation, and summarization, they were finally able to experience the fun of number walls.
Eng-rhythm beats light the classroom up
In the Longman English class, Grade 1 students and teachers explored the rules of the English class through rhythm, reading, and beats. With a variety of interactive activities, every student could express themselves and show self-confidence during the lesson. In the ELA class, students learned the interesting “five-finger re-tell method”. Look! How focused they were! With the help of their little fingers and by putting the newly-learned words back into the text one-by-one, students could re-tell many wonderful stories.
How wonderful the bilingual class is!
Welcome to the Megawatt Steam classroom. In this class, students recognized and explored static electricity in their lives, and learned about the generation and prevention of static electricity through group collaboration. It was really rewarding!
Joyful singing opened a fun-filled music lesson! Through music games, students reviewed and consolidated their prior knowledge of musical notes. They then learned about the musical stave under the teacher’s guidance. Through the method of “using hands and feet together”, they completed the learning subtly through the application of multiple senses.
Here came the most anticipated lesson of the day! In P.E. class, students were encouraged to try different relay methods through teamwork in order to stimulate their interest in sports. It was expected that by digging out their potential for sports, students could gain full confidence, have fun, and achieve success through physical activities.
In art class, students entered the immersive classroom atmosphere by watching a video of autumn and winter scenery. After learning about the encyclopedic knowledge of maple leaves, the teacher asked students to try and draw a small maple leaf. The slightly complicated outline of the maple leaf tripped up many students. Here came the teachers. They encouraged students to draw maple leaves with different lines and special methods, and invited some volunteers to experience the principle of ‘a line is composed of dots’ through a game. The students were suddenly enlightened, and the maple leaves they drew were much more refined. In such a relaxed and interesting classroom, students not only learned about the relevant knowledge of points and lines, but also participated in and experienced the complete artistic creation process through feeling, thinking, discussion, practice, and summarizing.
