Middle School Semester 1 Mid-term Awards Ceremony
With the hurried pace of time and the joy of completing challenging work, half a semester has already passed. To commend students who have made outstanding growth and progress since the beginning of the school year, and to inspire students’ cheerful outlook on learning from role models, SUIS Qingpu’s Middle School held a mid-semester Awards Ceremony in the school theater.

\ G6 & G7 /
The mid-semester examinations were the first examinations for the students who have just entered the sixth grade. For Grade 7 students, they were the first formal examinations sat after the pandemic period.
On the afternoon of November 15, the Grades 6 and 7 Awards Ceremony was held with the theme of “Going Forward”. All teachers and students first watched a video showing recent campus life and highlights from their daily learning activities. The warmth conveyed through the video moved everyone present.
Grade Coordinators for Grade 6 and 7, Mr. Gary and Ms. Joyce respectively, announced the “Star of Learning”, “Star of Discipline”, “Star of Progress” and “Star of Dedication” recipients from each grade. Time was fair to every student, while their progress and growth was also the best gift that time offered them.
Colin Jin and Edie Wu, representatives of Grades 6 and 7 “Learning Stars”, shared their learning experiences. Excellence is traceable and can be learned from models. Both students talked about how to use fragmented time effectively and how to become an expert in learning, which served to make all students present yearn for excellence.

\ G8 & G9 /
On the morning of November 16, Grades 8 and 9 held their Awards Ceremony with the theme of “A Goal in Mind, Direction with Action”.
At the beginning of the meeting, the attendees spontaneously burst into warm applause when they watched video highlights of a debate match and a youthful boys basketball game. Every day is a period of small but beautiful growth, a time that is worth cherishing.
During the meeting, teachers presented certificates and prizes to the award-winning students, and encouraged them to persist in facing their studies and life with a vigorous and cheerful outlook.
Eva Wang from class 9C, as an outstanding student representative, then provided the audience with a speech. Through the presentation of a mind map, she shared with students the combination of her actual learning situation with her academic planning ideas and specific practices in subject learning. She also talked about how to use a question correction app to help consolidate knowledge more efficiently, winning warm applause from all the students.
After the two sessions, the students expressed their joy for growth. They also expressed their gratitude to every teacher who has cared for them and helped them to grow and progress. If one has a goal and the motivation to strive for excellence, we believe that every student can find the strength to work hard and establish their own growth rhythm. We wish that all our students will achieve progress and happiness in the future.
