The romance of April continues with more blossoms in May under the ‘Start of Summer’, or Lixia. The 9th Artistic Performing Corner (APC) show arrived as scheduled in this beautiful season, full of vitality and hope. Students from our Primary School were all full of energy while showcasing on stage their talents in art, singing, dancing, or instrumental music performances. All the performances brought an unforgettable experience and endless joy to both the participants themselves as well as the delighted audience!
Musical performances
Art Salon
On the night of the show, students presented their artworks on stage in the form of public speeches. Rather than merely submitting their works for the exhibition, the young artists introduced themselves. They explained the concepts and ideas of their art pieces to the audience. As enthusiastic mentors, not judges, teachers were thrilled to observe the students’ confident and radiant presentations while providing them with their support.
Special performance
At the show’s end, we invited teachers Stella Xu, Mia Xie, and Anna Ren from the music team to perform an incredible “Duet of Cats” piece composed by Italian composer Rossini. This piece of music is unique indeed! Although the whole song’s lyrics only consist of meowing, it is an academic piece. It thus requires a high-level of expression and good vocal skills.
Every flower blooms from a seed
Art education is a subtle process. Children’s artistry, displayed today like a flower, starts from a tiny educational seed. During the growth of this seed, children gain creativity, imagination, and perception, along with the ability to appreciate the beauty around them. Through art education, students acquire valuable skills that prepare them for life after graduation. As their teachers and mentors, we hope that in the process of learning, they can also feel the nourishing happiness that art brings to our lives. When planted in the heart, an artistic ‘flower’ will bloom and fill all the voids. Life is joyful when it is accompanied by art.
