SUIS Qingpu is thrilled to announce the grand success of its first High School Musical production! In June, our remarkable high school students took the stage, delivering an outstanding performance of Stephen Sondheim’s “Into the Woods.” Guiding this magical journey as director was our exceptional music teacher Mr. Michael Feigl.

Let us take a moment to appreciate the exceptional talents of our brilliant students who graced the stage in our High School Musical production. Each student brought their unique essence to their role, leaving an indelible impression on the audience.
THE CAST
YVIE as THE BAKER’S WIFE
Yvie likes the intelligent character that she plays.

Karis loves his character, a character who starts out as someone who is weak but learns to be brave, which Karis says is similar to his own life experience!

Lucie enjoys putting herself in the shoes of the character that she is playing and sharing with the audience what she feels Cinderella is like from her own heart.

Leslie loves being a completely different character on stage, and hopes the audience enjoyed her portrayal of this “lovely, evil witch”.

Joy hopes that she told the story in a way that gave the audience the best possible experience of “Into the Woods”.

PENNY as LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD
Penny is a singer and musician, with many years of performing experience. She really enjoyed combining singing and drama.

Nikki has 10 years of experience in performing dance and ballet. She felt a little nervous but she hopes you enjoyed her performance as Jack.

Candy feels that the character of Jack’s Mother is very different from her own – it was a new and exciting experience for her.

DANIEL as CINDERELLA’S PRINCE
Daniel feels that he had some similarities to this character, as they both share a similar sense of humour and have a lot of energy!

ROGER as RAPUNZEL’S PRINCE
Roger found his character to be a challenge, as the prince is a very serious character. He did, however, admire the character’s bravery in the play.

Abyss loves the brand new perspective of these fairy tales that the play brings.

CINDY as THE WOLF and THE STEWARD
Cindy enjoyed the challenge of performing as a male character and hopes the audience enjoyed the play.

YUNA as CINDERELLA’S STEPMOTHER
Yuna liked that she played a character very different from her own, and did her best to play the role for the audience to enjoy.

Sally felt that the character she played was not consistent with her own personality – this allowed her to experience a new character style.

Anita played a character who was her complete opposite. She put her all into this performance as Lucinda.

ANGEL as CINDERELLA’S MOTHER and GRANDMOTHER
Angel believes that all the roles in this play were important, whether main or supporting, protagonist or antagonist.

We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to the incredible team behind the scenes who brought this production to life. Their unwavering commitment and expertise ensured a seamless experience for our audience. Mr. Michael Feigl directing, Mr. Jesse English’s creative set design, Mr. Simon Macbeth’s coaching in acting and language, Ms. Lauren Masek’s meticulous stage management, Ms. Alice Milner’s beautiful costumes and makeup, Mr. Guillaume Domas’ intricate prop designs, Ms. Allison Wang’s skillful makeup artistry, Ms. Heidi Cole’s brilliant marketing, and Ms. Bojana Bukumira’s work with the spotlight all contributed to the enchantment of the performance.

Stay tuned for future productions from SUIS Qingpu’s High School, where we continue to nurture and showcase the exceptional talents of our students!
