and a Year of the Dragon blessing awaits you!
Every Spring Festival, our students prepare art creations related to the New Year. This year, they were once again filled with expectations, presenting exquisite artworks for the Year of the Dragon. Please accept our students’ abundant blessings for the new year!
Our first graders combined their unforgettable New Year memories with elements of the Chinese dragon to create an imaginative and narrative series of illustrations entitled, “Dancing with the Dragon,” adding festivity and joy to the Year of the Dragon.
Grade 2 students welcomed the Spring Festival with their “Dragon Blessing” artworks. Through their studies of traditional Chinese patterns and the structural form of dragons, they handcrafted vivid three-dimensional dragons, embodying their wishes for the New Year.
Third-grade students engaged in hands-on practice to create large dragon-shaped installations. After mastering the characteristics of dragons, they assembled each part using cardboard materials to construct a dragon that appeared to soar and swirl. Demonstrating the spirit of vitality and collaboration within their team, they wished everyone a prosperous and soaring New Year.
During this year’s New Year activities, Grade 4 students learned the art of paper cutting and carving. They used colourful papercuts to add a festive cheer, sending good wishes for the Year of the Dragon.
Fifth-grade students cleverly combined traditional painting techniques with modern designs to create a series of mobile phone cases featuring imaginative designs for the Year of the Dragon. With their various styles, they were sure to bring good luck for the New Year.
Every year, teachers carefully prepare engaging art lessons that inspire students’ artistic talents and foster innovative thinking, allowing students to experience the joy of creation during their learning journey. Their hands, innocent and unbridled, consistently crafted delightful surprises. Through these art pieces, they not only demonstrated an understanding and appreciation for Chinese traditional culture, but also expressed their anticipation and blessings for the new year as well as their love and enjoyment of learning and life.
As we welcome the Year of the Dragon, a fresh vista unfolds before us. In this enchanting and hopeful New Year, our students carry the future dreams of our nation. Stepping into the Year of the Dragon with full enthusiasm, we wish that in the coming year everyone may embody the strength and valour of the dragon, bravely pursue their dreams, and achieve splendid success.
