In the spring, the scenery is beautiful and everything reveals its wonderful soul. The creative, combined show entitled, “Strokes of the Four Houses” from our Boarding Programme was full of surprises. Smoke painting, a creative tea ceremony, and the fun of throwing hairpins were all delightful and brought smiles to everyone’s faces. Grass and trees are growing, flowers are blooming, and a special episode called “The Phoenix is Spreading Flowers” added even more spring to the stage. The simple classical stage became dazzlingly beautiful in an instant, under the gentle swaying of dispersed light.
As spring returns, the flowers you planted will bloom anew. April is a wonderful time to appreciate modern poetry. The UK is considered the birthplace of modern poetry, and many acclaimed poets have emerged from the modern and contemporary eras. This programme will be particularly special, as Eloise Tan and Gloria Qian (with pianist Flora Wang) will be reading “If” by Rudyard Kipling, a Nobel Prize-winning author whose work offers profound insights on the philosophy of life.
The ‘flying flowers’ competition, a beloved annual event, has arrived with the bloom of spring. Colleges across campus have enthusiastically participated, creating a lively atmosphere. Ms. Helen commended the students for their wonderful performance.
In the College Cup evaluation, we witnessed the achievements of students from each college. White Tiger College was pleased to claim the winning title through their competitive efforts. As always, Dr. Adam expressed his praise and expectations for all the participants.
Though time passes, the moonlight still illuminates the night sky. A gentle breeze whispers a lullaby as a young girl in a white dress pours wine for the flowers, creating a starry scene. Gloria Qian’s song “Freezing Firework” (with pianist Flora Wang) adds a touch of spring fireworks to the atmosphere.
As the sun rises, the awakening insects herald the arrival of spring. Cherry blossoms will soon bloom, and the mist will give way to gentle breezes. Slender shadows are cast by the apricot tree branches, hinting at good things to come.
Our surprise guest for this event was Ms. Chen Jia, a master of Chen-style Taijiquan. Her profound yin-yang Taijiquan skills captivated the entire audience.
