On a bright, sunny Monday in December, with the footsteps of the Snake New Year quietly approaching, teachers and students at SUIS Qingpu gathered on the sports field to participate in the Flag-raising Ceremony under the theme of “Well-being”.

On that early morning, as the National Flag slowly rose, teachers and students stood in salute, expressing their love for the motherland and their aspiration for a happy life.

Then, a video showcased the vitality and enthusiasm of Zhuque House. In the video, Zhuque students demonstrated outstanding performances in various fields such as academics, sports, and arts, showcasing Zhuque’s house spirit, which is passionate, open-minded, wise, and innovative.

Poetry enthusiasts from the High School, with happiness as the theme and poetry as the tool, depicted a happy time for all teachers and students.

In their speech, Principal Sunny Huang and Co-Principal Adam gave a profound talk on “Pursuing Our Happiness under Modern Technology.” They discussed how today’s rapidly changing technology can play an important part in our well-being, but it is no substitute for learning how to look after ourselves, for learning to make better choices for our lives, and for learning to appreciate ourselves and our surroundings. The speech sparked deep thought among teachers and students about the relationship between technology, our actions, and happiness.

Awarding of the House Cup: A Glorious Moment for Xuanwu House

In the much-anticipated House Cup awarding ceremony, Xuanwu House once again received this honour for their outstanding performance. The students applauded Xuanwu House with warm applause, and also clapped for all the houses that competed, because everyone’s effort deserves respect.

Finding SUIS Qingpu’s Happy Corners: A School-wide Well-being Exploration Activity

Finally, Zhuque House launched the “Finding Happy Corners on Campus” activity, encouraging every teacher and student to discover the little corners on campus that bring happiness. This activity aims to let happiness take root and flourish in every corner of our campus, allowing everyone to feel the presence of happiness in their daily campus lives.
