The Spring Festival atmosphere is like lively notes skipping in every corner of the campus. The Grade 1 children were like a group of little explorers about to embark on a wonderful journey, greeting a unique Year of the Snake garden party with great joy and confidence. Look, the hall on SUIS Qingpu’s 2nd floor became a sea of joy! The passionate drumbeats were like a cheerful heartbeat, and the lively lions seem to be dancing vigorously with the blessings of the New Year. A grand feast of knowledge and happiness began!
The children, dressed in festive costumes, stepped excitedly into the hall decorated with elements of the Year of the Snake. The children held their pass cards and joyfully shuttled between the various checkpoints, happily and confidently demonstrating their learning achievements this semester. Now, let’s dive into the scene and have a look!
The children hopped to the “Phonics Jumping Snake” area and read out different syllables. In front of the “Word Wheel of Fortune,” they spun the wheel with great curiosity. Whenever the pointer stopped, they would raise their little hands high and loudly say the meanings of the words. They were as enthusiastic as if they had discovered treasure. At the “Recitation Flipping Fun” station, when the children saw the colourful cards, they quickened their pace to line up. They held the cards tightly and rushed to recite the short passages one after another. They were truly dedicated! In the “Competing to Be an Announcer” session, the children straightened their little chests. Like little hosts, after drawing the reading content, they read it out vividly. Some even added their own expressions and gestures. They truly resembled little news anchors with style!
The children also shone brightly in the English section of the garden party, actively participating in activities such as “Snake String” while wearing their New Year costumes. “Yeah, I’ve got it!” “Shoulders!” “I like…” They spoke one after another, fluently expressing English words and sentences, as if they were weaving a beautiful ribbon of English knowledge.
Wow! There were also “red envelopes”! The children read the contents of the red envelopes with such confidence: “It’s a chair!” They correctly guessed another “Snake Puzzle” and looked so proud—as if they had won a big competition.
Although there was a long queue, the children waited patiently, enjoying the fun of learning English through these engaging activities.
In the math paradise, the children concentrated fully in the “Snake Speed Calculation”. Their little mouths worked at rapid speed, quickly saying the answers to each arithmetic problem. Their tiny hands were also gesturing the calculation actions in the air. They seemed to be miniature math superheroes. In front of the “Snake Number Chain”, the children stared at the number chain with amazing focus. Their sharp minds were running fast, actively looking for the patterns among the numbers. Their focused expressions were like they were cracking a mysterious code. In the “Snake Classification” session, the children carefully manipulated various items, thinking seriously about which category they belonged to. Their hands nimbly sorted and placed the items, just like mathematicians organizing their math kingdoms. They truly felt that math is like a magic key that can open the doors to many mysteries in life.
With laughter and joy, the Year of the Snake Garden Party was like a bright star, leaving beautiful memories in the children’s hearts. In this activity filled with fun and challenges, the children tasted the “Flavour of the New Year” and harvested happiness, confidence, and growth. The clearance medals on the pass cards were like the brightest stars in the night sky, illuminating their learning path and igniting their enthusiasm for future exploration.
