The competitive world of education brings both challenges and excitement. Here, at SUIS Qingpu, we embrace them with open arms as we soldier on with our students to victory. Facing these challenges, the school has provided additional programmes to assist students in building their portfolios. The purpose is to provide added value to themselves with the ultimate objective: to produce students worthy of tertiary education. This is a showcase of the results of these programmes.
EPQ/IPQ Project

The EPQ project I have completed is an artefact. I created a video about the dangers of unhealthy weight loss for teenagers. I researched different weight loss methods to determine which ones are harmful and how they affect the body. I also suggested healthier alternatives. Meanwhile, I interviewed a doctor to ensure my information was accurate. Since my project is a video, I also looked into how to create engaging content for social media. To test if my video was effective, I conducted a questionnaire before and after people watched it. My main goal was to raise awareness about the risks and promote healthier choices for teens.
External Competition
As their mentor, I am really proud to see my students’ development and progress in the China National Economics Challenge (CNEC), where they have significantly raised their general ability in addition to deepening their grasp of economics. They have gained leadership, time management, teamwork, and independent learning abilities during the preparation process, as well as a shift from theoretical memorisation to applied analysis. From addressing their economic knowledge gaps to assisting them in rationally organising their review schedules to offering guidance during the second round of the paper and report phases, I am honoured to be by their side, helping them to solve problems and observe their growth and change.
Let’s congratulate these four students on their exceptional finals success! I’m excited for additional students who share their enthusiasm for economics to join them, showcase their skills, and flourish on the NEC stage!

Getting ready for the competition was tough but incredibly rewarding. My teammates and I dived deep into economic theories and endless numbers, and over time, all those complex concepts started to make sense. I began to see the world differently – whether it was changes in supply and demand or how government policies shape the economy, I realised that in economics, there are no absolute answers.
Looking back, I’ve gained so much from this experience. Beyond just learning economics, I’ve developed teamwork and communication skills that are just as important. These lessons aren’t just for the competition – they’re something I’ll carry with me for life.

I’ve learned a lot of different things and gained a great deal of valuable experience by taking part in the China National Economics Challenge (CNEC). It is challenging for us to compete in the DR category as students who have recently completed studying IG economics. To learn AP economics, we must follow the teachers’ instructions, work on problem sets consistently, and summarise incorrect questions. Competing against participants from other nations during the tournament helped me identify my own weaknesses in addition to enhancing my skills. Despite the fact that the competition’s outcomes are not entirely what I had hoped for, this experience has strengthened my resolve to pursue economics as a subject and to further my passion for it.
Here, I would especially like to thank my team members, as it is thanks to our combined efforts that this competition has become so unique and important. We are grateful to CNEC for providing us with this platform, which has allowed us to push ourselves and surpass our limits. We also want to express our gratitude to all of our teachers and classmates who have helped and encouraged us. Going forward, our team will work even harder to aim for better results in the next competition.”
