A Decade in Bloom: Growing Towards the Sun SUIS Qingpu’s Grade 3 Tenth Birthday Celebration

Ten years old marks the first milestone on life’s journey—a pivotal moment of bidding farewell to innocence and stepping into growth. With great anticipation, on 16 May 2025, SUIS Qingpu’s Primary School warmly hosted a ceremonial tenth birthday celebration for its Grade 3 students. Students, teachers, and parents gathered to share this heartwarming and unforgettable occasion!

Grand Entrance

Bathed in golden sunlight, a dreamy red-carpet ceremony awaited students and their parents! A fairy-tale archway adorned with blue, white, and gold balloons welcomed the Grade 3 students. To the rhythm of cheerful music, the children signed their names on the signature wall, capturing their radiant smiles. This was not merely an entrance but a bold declaration of their journey into a new chapter of growth.

Heartwarming Ceremony

Four young hosts, dressed in formal attire, opened the “Decade in Bloom: Growing Towards the Sun” ceremony with their clear, youthful voices. The entire school community sang the school anthem with passion, filling the air with uplifting energy. Principal Sunny and Co-Principal Adam of SUIS Qingpu delivered heartfelt speeches, recounting the children’s growth and encouraging them to pursue their dreams with courage, optimism, and compassion.

Time teaches us to grow, and in a blink, these children have blossomed into bright young individuals. On this special day, they celebrated with their beloved teachers and parents, creating cherished memories.

Teachers and students danced a graceful waltz, their steps symbolising companionship and growth. Representatives from each month of the year led interactive sessions, evoking sweet memories of the passing seasons. Grade 3 teachers recited heartfelt verses, each word brimming with love and hope for their students.

As joyful melodies filled the air, the principal and teachers shared warm wishes, lit candles, and led the birthday song. With eyes closed, the children made silent wishes under the flickering candlelight. Together with school leaders, they cut the birthday cake, symbolising the unfurling sails of their growth journey.

Moments Captured

Moving from the Qinglong Theatre to classrooms, each Grade 3 classroom transformed into a magical space. Students showcased carefully rehearsed performances, radiating confidence and courage. Through dance, music, and poetry, they expressed their hopes for the future and interpretations of growth.

Teachers, with unwavering dedication, have accompanied the children every step of the way. On this significant day, homeroom teachers offered sincere blessings, urging students to “grow like spring grass, shine like the summer sun, harvest autumn fruits, and dream winter dreams—always reaching for the light.”

Parents marvelled at their children’s talents—graceful dances, melodious songs, and heartfelt recitations—applauding with pride. This was SUIS Qingpu students at their finest!

During the “Guess Who?” game, laughter erupted as everyone tried to identify classmates from their adorable baby photos. Reflections on growth—from first words to first steps—stirred tender emotions.

Parents and children exchanged handwritten letters. “A blade of grass cannot repay the spring sun’s warmth,” yet through letters and warm embraces, gratitude and love flowed freely between generations.

Each class also hosted team-building activities, from icebreakers to starlit bonfires, fostering camaraderie and joy.
