On the morning of December 12, Qinglong House opened its “Gratitude and Growth” month with a themed flag-raising ceremony that blended solemn tradition with creative innovation. For the first time, an AI Qinglong avatar joined two high school student hosts on stage, co-hosting the entire event and bringing a vivid sense of technology and futurism to the ceremony.

Voices of Gratitude: Warmth Across All Grade Levels
The program began with a “Voices of Gratitude” video series across divisions: primary students focused on friendship and support from classmates. Behind these simple everyday moments lies the sincere affection of mutual companionship and support.
Starting from an injury in the badminton practice, middle school student used their camera to record bits of kindness within the larger community, and to reflect on the close connection between “self” and the wider world – the connection lifts us to heights that an individual alone could never reach.
High school students presented an original play, “Skeleton Dog,” exploring the relationship between humans, animals, nature, and life itself. On stage, the actors used vivid performances to interpret the deeper meaning of harmonious coexistence between humans and animals, exploring the value of life and the responsibility we bear. Gratitude was presented not just as polite words, but as a way of seeing and caring for the world.

Energetic Dance: Igniting Campus Passion
A dynamic middle school dance performance “HAPPY” then turned the playground into a stage for youthful energy. Led by two Latin dance specialists, supported by a coordinated ensemble of dancers and live drumming, the performance showcased confidence, teamwork, and the joy of self-expression as a powerful answer to the call for growth.

Moments of Honor: Witnessing Growth and Responsibility
The ceremony also featured key milestone moments: the announcement of the monthly House Cup winner, celebrating collective effort and House spirit. The applause belonged not only to the winners, but also to every SUIS student who is striving forward on their own path of effort.
Soon after, an important and meaningful announcement was made – the official establishment of the Working Committee for the Care of the Next Generation at SUIS Qingpu, marking a deeper, more structured commitment to students’ long-term development and wellbeing.

AI Qinglong Debut: Bringing a Sense of the Future to the Ceremony
A major highlight of the ceremony was the surprise debut of the AI Qinglong avatar, which broke from traditional formats by co-hosting with two high school students and seamlessly linking each segment with lively visuals and clear speech. Its presence made the program more dynamic and memorable, turned technology into something visibly embedded in campus life, and sparked students to imagine themselves as future creators in an AI-driven world.
