Flying red scarf, glorious Young Pioneers,
Seeking the light, following the light, becoming the light,
The red scarf never fades.
On 7 June 7 2024, SUIS Qingpu held the Initiation Ceremony of our Grade Two Young Pioneers with the theme ” Children’s Hearts Shine, Lighting Up the Future.” On this special day, the Grade 2 students joined the Chinese Young Pioneers at SUIS Qingpu. The fluttering of the red scarf symbolized that they have entered a new chapter in their lives.
During the flag raising all students were quiet and felt inspired. The flag bearers held the flag with pride and showed the demeanour of Young Pioneers.
The light of hope, illuminating the way forward
Students actively participated in educational activities. During these activities they learned to sing team songs, constantly practiced how to tie their red scarves, and further acquired the standardized movements of the line salute.
Stay true to the mission, forge ahead
Ms. Cindy Zhang, Secretary of our school CPC Branch, delivered a speech at the ceremony to express her gratitude to the Young Pioneers. She encouraged them to study hard and to always pursue their dreams.
With ideals in mind, bravely pursue dreams
The Young Pioneers in Grade 2 sang the song “Light up the Future”. ‘Be a light, light up the future, hand-in-hand, convey beauty and strength, and endless hope will travel through time’ – this song inspires us to continue seeking dreams and face every challenge in the future. As long as there is light in the heart, the future will be bright.
Sunshine illuminating the road with great hope
The mother of Midoe Zhang from Class 2A provided a speech as a parent representative, conveying strong expectations, expressing blessings and wishes, and encouraging the children to thrive in the big family of the Young Pioneers, welcoming a bright future. Parents of Grade 2 students also sent their blessings through videos.
Bright red scarf, firm belief
A total of 259 students in Grade 2 joined our campus’ Young Pioneers. Our school leaders and parent representatives wore red scarves during this memorable day. “The red spirit is passed on from generation to generation.” It is a responsibility, furthermore, it is an honour. From today on, the Grade 2 students will have a new name, called Young Pioneers!
